HAMPTON HOUSE

The Hampton House founders, Ashley Hampton and Beth Hampton, came to me needing everything from branding to web design for their new therapy practice specializing in helping marginalized communities (specifically the LGBTQUIA+ population and the BIPOC community) in Nashville, TN. After years of working in the therapy space, Ashley recognized a bigger need for therapists who specialize in this work as well as a need for a space where marginalized folx could feel safe.

BRANDING

We, of course, started with the branding to form a solid foundation for their brand.

She knew what color scheme she wanted for the brand, and liked the idea of using a rainbow which we altered to represent an LGBTQ+ safe zone as well as adding in a variety of different skin tone colors to represent the full spectrum of clients they serve.

We then rounded the design out with a serene cottage scape to further evoke a sense of safety and openness, and later added two tagline variations that Ashley had carefully chosen to represent the business.

WEB

We started the Hampton House website knowing we wanted a simple, calm, and inviting design for prospective clients. I wanted to make sure the website was free of clutter and extremely user-friendly so that potential clients (who may be in distress) could navigate the site with ease and immediately get a sense of who Ashley and Beth (and their clinicians) are, and the safe space they create for folx. I opted to use their soft pink brand color as the primary color for the website to keep the energy soft and inviting.

Ashley and I worked the longest on selecting photography for the services page. It was paramount that we represent the diverse population that they serve. So we spent days combing through options and carefully selecting images that aligned with their organization. I added soft transitions to each service and coded links at the top of the page that link to each individual service to make the long page easier to navigate.
